Hyderabad Defence Academy ("HDA", "we", "our") built the HDA Student Portal app to help students access their academic results, remarks, and profile information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
1 Information We Collect
We collect the following information when you use the app:
- Full name and admission number
- Email address (used for account verification and password reset)
- Profile photo (uploaded by the student or admin)
- Academic marks, scores, and subject results
- Teacher/admin remarks
- Course details: stream, year, and batch
- Account creation and last-updated timestamps
2 How We Use Your Information
We use the information collected solely to:
- Display your personalised student dashboard
- Show your academic results and teacher remarks
- Authenticate you and keep your account secure
- Send OTP codes for email verification and password reset
- Allow admins to manage and update student records
3 Data Storage & Security
All data is stored securely on Google Firebase (Firestore & Firebase Storage), which provides industry-standard encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. We do not store any data on our own servers.
- Data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS
- Data is encrypted at rest by Firebase (AES-256)
- Access is restricted by Firebase Security Rules
- Only authenticated users can view their own data
4 Sharing of Information
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with any third parties. Your data is only accessible to:
- You (the student) — via the app
- HDA administrators — for managing academic records
- Google Firebase — as the infrastructure provider (subject to Google's Privacy Policy)
5 Data Retention
Your data is retained for as long as you have an active student account with HDA. If you request account deletion, all your personal data will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.

- Request access to your personal data
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and all associated data

7 Children's Privacy
The HDA Student Portal is intended for students enrolled at Hyderabad Defence Academy. We do not knowingly collect data from children under the age of 13 without parental consent. If you believe a child's data has been collected without consent, please contact us immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
